Bottom Line: I'm very happy with the upgrade.
The positives:
- Verizon made the upgrade free for me - they are giving me a 100% rebate.
- I"m keeping my old BB as "insurance" for my wife's and daughter's BB, saving me another $16 or so.
- The Incredible is much "snappier" than the BB. Everything seems to work faster.
- The screen is larger and more vibrant.
- The browser is more PC-like, faster, and of course the screen is larger.
- The form factor is sleeker and easier to carry around.
- The app selection is a zillion times better.
- It doesn't waste space and weight with a keyboard - I found the BB keyboard tough to type on, and I don't have very big fingers.
- The phone gives word suggestions as you type, making it easier to correct typos and avoid typing full words.
- The battery doesn't feel like it would make it through a day. It's easy to plug in when I"m by my laptop or in the car, so I haven't actually run out of juice, but you can almost see the battery indicator go down.
- It eats bandwidth at a much greater rate than the BB. With the BB, I never exceeded 100MB in a month. With the droid, I haven't finished my first month yet, and I'm already well over 250MB. Some of that may be the initial downloading of apps, so I'll see what month 2 is like. In any case, keep an unlimited data plan until you are comfortable that you can live with less.
- In portrait mode, the keyboard is cramped - very cramped.
